Our extended care programs serve the families in our school community by offering a nurturing, neighborhood-like environment consistent with the principles of Singing Stones. We have one program for children in early childhood, and a second for children in the grades.

We provide a harmonious multi-age environment with rhythm and structure, as well as many opportunities for free play. The atmosphere is relaxed and home-like, where children enjoy nurturing play such as indoor and outdoor games, sand play, cooking and baking, crafts and other seasonal activities. Wooden toys, games, and books are available for indoor use.

Typical Rhythm

  • Dismissal from Classes
  • Aftercare staff greet the children. Lunch or snack is enjoyed family-style around the table or together outside on a blanket.
  • Story time, followed by free indoor and outdoor play.
  • Healthy nutritious snack, followed by free play, games, and seasonal crafts and activities.
  • Late snack and coming together.  “Tea-time” around the table in winter with riddles and guessing games bring a cozy end to the day.
